The Art troupe and General troupes which have religious significance have played in many important official occasions in the recent years, that arises from the policies for culture industry. The General troupe has the most special form among the Art troupe, it has so much spring and variety, and is always putting in special steps and slides. Besides, its facial painting imparts a dignified and mysterious appearance which connects with the symbols of the Gods. Through studies we know the Art troupe and General troupes not only play the important role in the temple fairs, but also has affected Taiwan’s folk dance deeply. The studies in this thesis focus on the General troupe, the prize groups in Pingtung’ Tsz-Feng Temple from 2008 to 2010, and analyzes their performing forms of actions to explain what aesthetic standards they had; meanwhile, to popularize them on art education and cultural inheritance. The aim of this thesis is to explore and evaluate the art of General troupes and highlight its essential features of regional dance.
