面臨困境的生存之道，是人類從古至今所探求的，透過道家《老子》的生活哲學深入研究消解壓力之道，進而獲得心靈安頓，是本文研究的核心重點。在研究步驟除了「前言」、「結論」外，在各章安排上共分三節：為「老子的虛靜觀」、「面對壓力的因應」、「致虛守靜思想在解消壓力之啟示」，筆者嘗試論析老子的「致虛守靜」思維落實在心理健康部分，強調面對外在誘惑和壓力時，讓生命透過無為解消躁動，同時進入虛靜的無躁境界中，使心靈獲得平和寧靜的安頓狀態。
