43 definitions of "place" were simantically analyzed by syntactic structure, which was devided by subjectivity, objectivity, and the linkages between them, -to find out the various internal meanings about the concept of "place". Through analyzing and summarizing the meanings of definitions for further research in the area of place, they were categorized into three types; (1) the structure of place. (2) the experience of place, and (3) the existence of place.
