Styles of scales should be seen as a key issue on gerograpchical practices. In this paper, we provide a path of thinking for this issue to remind those who lose sight of the dynamics of regional scales. Scale is not just a geographical concept, but refers to the scope-schema of body subjects. Region, locality, and place should not be used to indicate the units of physical environments, but to be as a part of scale-flows. They tie closely to show a triple-stratum which includes place-schema, locality-schema, and region-schema. This triple-stratum can be used to capture the spatial relationships between diffreent scales of environment and its expression differs in different styles. Taking it into geographical practices, we should pay attention to (1): the triple-stratum is a dynamic flow of scales used to show environment as a totality; (2) in geographical education, the scale-flows chosen should be in accordance with the scope-schema of students.
