員工工作生活品質為企業界人力資源管理廣泛研究之主題,但在圖書資訊學領域中尚少此方面之研究。本文旨在探討圖書館館員工作生活品質的相關主題,以中國圖書館學會暑期研習班之學員為研究對象,從事一探索性之實証研究,從而了解我國圖書館館員對工作生活品質所重視之構面、各構面需求之程度、當前圖書館館員所享有之工作生活品質水平等相關議題,以建立我國圖書館館員工作生活品質之整體概念,除了可供圖書館管理實務之參考外,亦可作為圖書資訊學界未來後續研究之基礎。
Research applications on the quality of work life (QWL) are extensive in industrial and service sectors. However, the library sector has never been the focus of such research. How do librarians view their quality of working life? Which personal needs do librarians view as important? Are librarians able to satisfy these needs given the state of library support? How can we improve the quality of working life in our libraries? Relatively little information has been published on these aspects of organizational life in the library. The purpose of this paper is to introduce the concept of QWL to the library and information industry. Both a review of the literature on QWL and the results of an empirical study are presented.
