　　　　　本文嘗試從空間與時間文化的理論，探索MUD文化，釐清其興趣結構、符號特質與社群本質。空間文化的分析指標為通道、向度、位址、距離、方向與形式，時間文化的指標則為歷時性、共時性與速度，最後歸納出創造、流動、解構、解放、並置等主要虛擬世界的文化特徵，這些特質正與後現代文化的精神不謀而合。
　　　　　This article attempts to explore the MUD culture with theories of space and time, clarifying its interest structure, symbolic characteristics, as well as nature of community. The culture of virtual space is examined by the following concepts: channel, dimension, address, distance, direction, and form, while the culture of virtual time is examined by diachronicity, synchronicity, and speed. The study concludes that creativity, mobility, deconstruction, liberation, and juxtaposition are the key features in the virtual culture, which are consistent with those of postmodern themes.
