Nature presents different appearances and scenery with the change of four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and winter. Among the four seasons, autumn is often being praised. Yu Sung’s “Chiu bian” is the first work of “sad autumn.” Therefore, lots of later works about fall are influenced by Chiu bain for more and less. “The tradition of sad autumn” of tzufu works are earlier than that of poems. Because of the complication and various characteristic of tzufu makes “the sadness of fall” in fu provide colorful and fabulous style whether in content or art. Therefore, this essay is mainly about the fu works of all from profound thinking to inquire the succession and expansion of “sadness of fall” after Hanwei Dynasty. This essay is divided into three parts: First, focus on the first work on the “the tradition of sad fall”-chiu bain for analyzing “the primitive style” of “sad autumn.” Second, try to inquire “sad autumn” is just the sad moon of season fall, or the strong connection with one’s experience of sadness. And further analyze the succession of chun bian through the sad fall articles of Yueh Pan’s “chiu hsing fu,” Chin Ho’s “pei chiu yao,” Ho shen Hsian’s “chiu ke ai”, etc. Third, in the section of “the expansion of sad fall tradition” seeing “sad autumn” and “saness of feamle” are econountered. Among Emperor Liang yuan ti’s ”Tang tzu chiu sz fu,” the same name of “Kua fu fu” by Yueh Pan and Pi Tsao. In addition, Yu his Liu’s “chiu sheng fu” and Mu Du’s “wan ching fu” pointed out the trend of “thin of sad autumn.” Furthermore, Hsiu Ouyang’s “chiu sheng fu” even to change the tradition mind of “sad autumn” to a enjoying fu during fall. Those works could present the abundant and changeful content of fall works.
