Energy saving issues are widely concerned, while solar-power industry will play a more important role in modern economic environment. Most firms related to solarpower industry in Taiwan are small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and have limited resources in manpower and materials. Due to lack of an effective evaluation model for supplier performance, typical SMEs have poor supply chain quality of key components in environmental solar-power technology, such as sealed rechargeable battery. This problem results in not only poor quality of entire supply operation process but also fi rms profi tability. This study aims to construct a model for evaluating secondary battery supplier's performance, which provides fi rms with the evaluation indices and standard purchasing process. To build the model, firstly we extensively collected and filtered factors of evaluating supplier's performance. With professionals' deliberating and revising our key factors, we implemented an analytic network process (ANP) to calculate relative importance weights of each index and completed our model for evaluating the secondary battery supplier's performance. Finally,we applied the model to evaluate and analyze real cases. The result showed that the model matches with actual performance of suppliers perfectly.
