The purpose of the thesis considered the media policy which have influenced the media and people in colonial Taiwan from 1895 to 1945. And to answer the questions of how these radio stations played the media roles during the colonial history of Taiwan. First of all, the thesis inquired into the media policy of Japan imperialism. A good method was to analyze the Japanese Hoso magazines published by the Japan government during the study period. This research used the historical data analysis approach to deal with this part . Secondly, the thesis focused attention on examining the historical role of Taiwan Hoso Kyokai(THK). It was the first radio station of Taiwan, and researches on colonial Taiwan often failed to grasp the radio station's function and effects to Taiwan people under Japan's colonial government.Numerous attempts have been made by scholars to demonstrate the colonial Taiwan's political and economic situation. This paper explored a further possibility to show the true face of very early radio stations in colonial Taiwan, which to the best of my knowledge have never been examined. It should be concluded, from what has been said above, that we should not overlook the passed history. Because what is important is that the more we clarify the past history, the more we could adapt to the unpredictable future.
