This study describes the status quo of college students' part-time job and examines its influence on students' work values. Related variables such as personal background are statistically controlled in the analysis. Work values are divided into extrinsic and intrinsic values. Each category contains four subcategories. A questionnaire survey was conducted to collect data from colleges located in north, middle, and south areas of Taiwan. A total of 1881 valid questionnaires were collected. The main findings of the study are as following: College students from different backgrounds have different values toward part-time jobs. Female students value the interpersonal relationships in their jobs. There are significant differences about work values among students from different academic colleges. Students, who have technical and autonomous part-time jobs, possess stronger intrinsic values. Based on the findings, suggestions to universities are provided.
