This paper predicted也at high school students applying for admission to universities and/or colleges are getting less and less yearly. The number of students will be significantly less than 100 thousand in 2007. In order to provide a better environment to attract students, many universities and/or colleges are beginning to adopt or think about the possibi1ities of admitting students without classification by departments. All or at least a portion of their students will be admitted to a specific college as freshmen, and they are free to choose their major field and department after studying for one or two years in their respective college. This revolutionary change is obviously trying to give students more information and much more time for preparation before they are ready to make their final decision for the life career. According to our survey, 73.7% of high school students are worrying about the traditional admission by department cou1d push them to enter a department that is not really desirable for them. Besides, 31.19 % to 38.11% of students in the college of management agree that it is appropriate for college students to delay one to two years before choosing a specific department. It is because they will be well-prepared both physically and mentally after completing some basic courses and getting along well with faculties and students for a period of time. Thus, it is suggested a detail planning for freshman courses is necessary in order to educate students to build up visions for their future careers.
