ABSTRACT This study is to survey and understand the present problems of engineering ethics in construction industry. We review previous studies and summarize the twenty items concerned with engineering ethics issues; additionally, then designed two scenario questions, varying with bribe and risk of being arrested, to assess the bribery-accepting intention. Results of 376 valid returned questionnaires revel that firm’s adopting lowest-bidding competition and illegal lobby are the present critical ethical issues in construction. Approximate 25% of respondents express probably to accept bribes on designed scenario questions. Moreover, results of Chi-Square Test show bribery-accepting intention decrease with age increasing, marriage, the more stable of living, and having more practical working and social experience.
