The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships between the leisure sport involvement, flow experience and life satisfaction among Yuan-Ji dancers and to examine their relations in terms of different background variables. The participants consist of Yuan-Ji Dance centers at five communities in Chia-yi city. Descriptive statistics, factor analysis, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and structural equation modeling are adopted in this study for data analyses. The major findings of the research are summarized as follow. The leisure sport involvement does not have a direct effect on life satisfaction, but an indirect one on it. It is shown that this indirect effect is contributed through flow experience. The flow experience is found to play an important role as mediator between leisure sport involvement and life satisfaction. In terms of the background variables, it is indicated that participants aged from 46 to 64 and those aged more than 65 have significantly higher involvements than participants aged below 45. Moreover, people in excellent health conditions have significantly higher life satisfaction than those in good and fair ones. Meanwhile, people in good health conditions maintain better life satisfaction than those in fair ones. Therefore, it can be concluded that participants with better health conditions experience higher life satisfaction than those with poorer conditions. Finally, conclusions are provided for future related research.
