The purpose of this study was to explore various approaches to the certification of evaluators of educational institutes. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with nineteen individuals involved in educational evaluation. The content of the interviews was coded by Atlas.ti version 5.2. In accordance with the issues identified in the preliminary stages of the study, questionnaires were distributed among 2525 educators to gather opinions regarding the certification of evaluators of educational institutes. A total of 1860 questionnaires were collected, for an effective return rate of 73.3%. The findings showed that eighty seven percent of educators agreed with the certification of evaluators. The important issues suggested by educators regarding the certification of evaluators included a system for ranking certificates, denomination of the certification process, conditions for the authentication of qualifications, the priority of items, conditions for the replacement of certificates, the establishment of an administration unit, and conditions for the cancellation of certificates. Opinions did not vary among teachers in primary or secondary schools, or among faculty members in colleges or university. Finally, four suggestions were proposed.
