自閉症已被列為廣泛性發展疾患,若能及早發現障礙並進行醫療復建教育,則可減低症童之障礙程度。本研究以量化方式輔以質化訪談,對症童的家長參與休閒課程活動及其後續延伸之休閒活動,進行探究家長對休閒效益的狀況之認知。研究發現:(1)症童在參與「娛樂型」的休閒活動相對為多,且休閒活動參與上以休閒課程之活動為主;(2)整體來說,參與休閒課程所帶來的休閒效益,以教育效益來得最高;(3)「有陪同症童參與休閒課程活動」的家長認為最大的休閒效益在於症童的固著行為及情緒問題,「無陪同課程」的家長則在生活自理面成長及減低分離焦慮;(4)家長認為症童在學習注意力、口語理解與表達,全面皆整體提升,且學習主動性越強、眼神的接觸更集中,心理層面及教育效益是有明顯進步。藉由本研究結果,期望家長能積極的投入孩子黃金治療時期,能自己帶領孩子確實由生活休閒參與起,減緩孩子的障礙;並建議相關單位,可以增加症童的休閒活動課程。
Autistic Disorders (Autism) is classified as a pervasive developmental disorder, and the symptoms of autism can be found earlier and undertake the medical recovery. The study included a quantitative method and a group of interviews, exploring the issue on Autism parents' perceptions on leisure participations and leisure benefits of preschool children with Autism. Research findings were as follows: (1) the children engaged "entertainment" activities more then other types of leisure activities; additionally, children's leisure activity participations were mainly from the leisure courses; (2) while addressing leisure benefits after participating leisure activities, leisure benefit on education was scored the highest; (3) parents who did company the children in the leisure activities class, believed that leisure benefits resulted improvements of progress on the children's routine behaviors and the emotional problems, and parents who did not company the children to the class believed the leisure benefits helped children's' improvements on daily and emotional behaviors; (4) parents believed that the leisure activities resulted psychological and educational leisure benefits on children's concentration, comprehension, oral expression, and overall learning initiative. In general, participating leisure activities can be a way to improve the symptoms of autism, parents and family play the important role in this situation.
