This inventory was revised from the "Mental Health Diagnoses Test" which was originalty developed by Ten-chung Educational Institute in Japan. It consist of 100 items which can be classified into ten subscales: (1)affiliation, (2)social skills, (3)social adjustment, (4)adjustment in study and play game, (5)goals for living, (6)behavioral immaturity, (7)emotional unstability, (8)sense of inadaptability, (9)physical inferiority, (10)neurosis. An item analysis and an analysis of principal component were performed based on the data from 383 fourth through sixth graders in Kaohsiung. The item which has been selected meet the following criteria: (1)The loading of the item for the subscale is greater than.330., (2)The point-biserial correlation between the item and the subscale is sbatistically sigrificant. The norms of this inventory for fourth through sixth grade levels have been established based on the data from a sample of 2101 elementary school students. The test-retest reliability coefficunts of this inventory periods of twp weeks and four weeks are .87 and .81 respectively. Using the "Elementary School Personality Test" as the criterion, the concurrent validity cocfficient of this inventory is .69.
