     本文從心理學中訊息處理論(information-processing theories)的觀點,來看 文化╱語言與認知間的關係。訊息處理論相信人是主動的訊息處理者,他帶著既有的先備知 識及認知工具 (如語言 ),主動對外界無窮的訊息展開策略性的輸入、處理,並將認知的結 果整合到原來有的知識系統中。在這過程中的每一階段都需耗用有限的心理資源,他因此必 須隨時主動地監控外在的環境 (文化及天然 ),調整所用的認知策略及認知工具,以達成最 好的認知產出。在文化的層次,各文化發展出來認知處理策略及工具的成功與否,解釋了各 群體間認知產出上的差異。從本文從有限理性、兒童發展、情緒、語言、話語、文字等不同 層次回顧多項實證研究,嘗試從認知負荷量的解釋,對不同文化╱認知的差異,提出解釋。
