本論文的主要目的在於能重新建構日治中期時台灣木工藝産業史的整體結構，並逐步解析其發展過程中的重要特微内涵。研究範圍主要集中於日人統治台灣的中段時期（從1912年至1926年的期間）。研究方法主要是整理日治中期各類歷史文献、統計报告書、雜誌刊物與報紙中，有關木材材料運用與産業發展資訊的因果關系，然後使用這些相關資訊，解析本時期台灣木工藝産業重要發展特徵的歴史研究過程。主要的研究成果在結論部分會以完整論述的形態呈現，在此則精要彙整出三項重點：1.本島地産木材逐漸進入木工藝産業中，開始改變本地人對木製品用料的基本認知。2.木工藝産業逐漸在地化成長，産品風格也逐漸多元混合（洋、日式）發展。3.台灣木工藝産業的规模逐漸成形，並成爲台灣産業中的重要项目。4.當時外人對台灣木工藝産業、産品的印象雖說並無太大好評，但台灣地方的産業、産品的宣傅與推廣活動仍是日趨熱絡，顯示出外人與本地人對産品、産業印象認知上的差距。

This dissertation is the paper about the research of the wooden craft industry history in Taiwan. The research mainly consists in constructing the whole annotation structure of Taiwan’s wooden craft industry history in the middle period of Japan dominion era, and gradually analyzes all sorts of important characteristics in the develop process. The research method is to collect the relevance causality of timbering exerts and industry development information in all sorts of historical document, statistics report, magazine and newspaper in the middle period of Japan dominion era. And then use the relative information to analyze the important development history process of wooden craft industry in Taiwan this period. The range of the research is focus on the middle period that Taiwan had been governed by Japan (from 1912 to 1926). The research findings have four points: 1. The local lumber which has been used gradually in the craft industry in Taiwan changed Taiwanese's basic cognition of the materials of wooden products. 2. Wooden craft industry gradually grew up in local, and the style of the product gradually became diversified development. Industry magnitude becomes concrete. 3. Foreigners had not very big favorable impression on wooden craft industry in Taiwan at that time. However, the propaganda and popularization activities of the industry and products gradually hasten, and these activities influence to expand the impression of wooden craft industry from local.
