It used the essence of Confucianism and the knowledge of Xiangshu (Ima ges and numbers) to eliminate the vanity of Wang Bi’s Taoism, thus to emp hasize the functio n of person and action. It reviewed the bias style of study emerging from Wei and Jin dynasties and marked a transformation of the spirit of the time. New concepts a nd new thoughts radually formed and prevailed. “To eliminate the vanity” emphasized the value of “change”, i.e. we should not only learn to change, b ut also should learn to use what has been changed; otherwise, it will be of no use and do nothing good to the world. Third, to develop categories; Yijing made much contribution to the study of philosophical connotations and Xiangshu, and made great successes. Fourth, there appeared new writing forms which mainly educated through idealistic aspect instead of me aning explanation of words and sentences.
