受到科技、經濟與文化的影響,世界出現了改變。在這個變動的世界中,博物館的角色也必然出現轉變。這個轉變從資訊與科技的進步中與時俱增,因此我們必需適時的檢視、思考、分析與整理這些轉變。本文認為,博物館在變動的世界中,面對最主要的趨勢是,資訊化、商業化與全球化等三項。在過去的發展中,幾乎所有的博物館都嚴肅的對待這三項趨勢,並將它們納入營運的策略之中,成為既定的目標。本文針對這個發展,依照「必要性」與「過度應用」的對比架構,論證博物館面對變動世界的因應之道,應當採取動態的途徑,主動發覺是否有過度應用的現象。文中論證博物館在資訊化上,應當區分虛擬化展覽情境,與實際文物所激發的情感不同。在商業化上博物館應追求自立而非牟利;在全球化上博物館應當維持在地的差異性,而非全盤追求全球的同質性。在這具有對比性的概念架構中,本文充分地指出博物館在變動世界中,值得參考的未來發展方向。
The world has been changing because of the effects of economics, technology and culture. In a changing world, the role of the museum must also be changed. These changes have been activated by advances in informatics and technology. We must review, consider, analyze, and organize these changes. In this essay, we point out that the main trends facing the museum in a changing world are informatics technology, commercialization, and globalization. In the past, nearly all museums have taken these trends seriously, not only taking them into account in strategy making, but also setting them as goals to be achieved. In accordance with the need to explore the positives and the negatives of these trends in a changing world, the essay argues that the proper way for the museum to address a changing world is a dynamic one in which it actively detects whether there is over-exploitation. It shows when that the museum utilizes informatics technology in exhibitions, it must be able to observe the different emotions aroused in audiences by virtual reality on the one hand and real objects on the other. As far as commercialization is concerned, instead of profits, independence should be the goal of the museum. As to globalization, the museum should maintain local differences rather than pursue global homogeneity. By reference to the positives and negatives, the essay outlines a direction worth considering for the development of the museum in a changing world.
