"The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" is one of the four masterpieces in ancient Chinese. Not only it includes many characters, but also owns a grand and rigorous framework based on historical stories replenished with folk legends. Intellectuals and the public readers are fond of it because of the military and political scheme contents. However, though it was written in the common language then, students nowadays have difficulty reading it due to its vintage. Therefore, it is important to design a better curriculum to introduce this classic, so how to interest students and arrange contents progressively becomes crucial in curriculum design. This paper is based on the author's years of teaching experience in "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" courses at Taipei Medical University, and it probes what should be focused on curriculum design, planning, and teaching. First, the curriculum must elaborate the author, value, and influence of "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms", and provide a suitable course progress according to the classic course style. Second, it should also illustrate several examples to allow students to reflect. Last, we expect that the "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms" curriculum could help students to understand more this history and traditional culture then, and improve their cultural and historical knowledge and humanities.
