Wang Tao was an important person because of having multiple cultural identities in the Late Qing Dynasty, such as writer, thinker, translator, Newspaperman, etc. He possessed the visions between East and West, so there were some narrative strategies and specific meanings in his works. This article is about to focus on his novel called "Song Yin Man Lu", and discuss the meaning of Dreamland and Fantasyland in this work. In this novel, Wang Tao inherited Chinese legends and classical novels, and included his overseas experiences, so there were the characteristics about the Wang's cognition and imagination of the Eastern and Western geography, and knew there were some power relations between the two sides. In the matter of Dreamland topic, it showed that people shouldn't be obstinate, and the female image of liberating males by appearing in one's dreams. As to the Fantasyland topic, it showed the Wang Tao hoped the Qing Dynasty could insist on the traditions and ritual laws, and being conscious when facing the overseas objects. All in all, in this article, we can find that Wang Tao showed his reflection, and there were tradition and modern traits in his novels
