Taiwan folk custom plays an important role in local life. This study aims to investigate the relationship between the ceremony of the local Wangyeh celebration and the belief of local citizens. The study applied literature analysis and field research as the research method as how people express their inner believes through Wan-nen-dian Wang Chiu ceremony of the cultural meaning. The results have revealed that there is a tight connection between the belief towards Wangyeh and the marine culture in Taiwan. The belief towards Wangyeh has a tight connection to the marine culture in Taiwan. In the past, people believed Wangyeh was the god of Plague, but the belief has turned into that Wangyeh is the Almighty God protecting people and land, which also demonstrated the transformation of folk religion. Moreover, Wan-nen-dian Wang Chiu in Wenli, Tainan has been hosted every twelve years since 1984. The Wang Ship has been preserved and become the deification of worshipping, and it was also viewed as a symbol of protection and the center of belief for the local people, and which leads to the stronger union of township. Cohesion of mindsets, preservation of folk arts, and promotion of culture are actually representing the spirit of the local festival as well as forming the unique cultural awareness of traditions.
