     每一個國家都希望藉由各種管道來培養其國民,使其具有「良好公民」(good citizen) 的特性。此一「良好公民」的特性,即是所謂的「公民素養」或是「公民資格」。因此,培養「理想公民」、「公民素養」或是「公民資格」就成了各國公民養成教育的目標。   為達上述目標,家庭、學校與社會均共同擔負著培養理想公民的責任,而其中學校更是三者中最有計畫進行者,因此,如何透過學校教育以培養理想公民遂成為教育工作者的重要工作。本文主要是藉由「合作學習」教學在國中公民與道德科之實驗研究中,以了解有無實施合作學習對學生自我概念、同儕關係與學習成就的差異情形,並藉此探討合作學習在公民養成教育上的意義。本研究獲致下列研究結果:(一) 合作學習有助於提昇公民科的學習成就,能增進公民知識;(二) 合作學習能夠增進同儕關係與自我概念,可以提昇公民德行;(三) 合作學習可培養學生社會技巧,能增進公民參與能力。
