　　　　　本文將新聞教科書提出的知識視為一套監視與訓育系統。不同於以往研究教科書的方法論點；我們主張，教科書不應僅被視為一種學門知識、一種靜態知識的呈現，教科書提出的是一套有效的「內在監視系統」，透過馴化、監視與紀律過程，使學習者具備自主自持的能力，確保社會正常秩序的運作。 新聞教科書透過「倫理」的道德技術，編織了一張自由卻又強制的網；其次，新聞媒體作為特定的社會機構，必須從整個生活世界的知識倉儲挪用對事實的普遍性看法。最後，新聞教科書維持與再製新聞知識權力網絡的規範命令，藉由此類書籍，新聞此一真理政權才能被學習、被保存以及制度化下來。
