梁啟超（1873-1929）是中國近代學術史上首屈一指的百科全書式的大學者、大思想家。他對中國近代哲學、政治學、經濟學、史學、文學、社會學、宗教學、倫理學的開創性貢獻，是無與倫比的。但是，作為一代法學大家的梁啟超對中國近代法學的開創性貢獻，人們至今並未認識到。本文將著重介紹梁啟超的法制事業、法學貢獻及其法學思想。

Liang Qichao, an encyclopedic scholar in Chinese modern history, was a famous statesman for modern political revolution and legal reform, also made a great contribution to Chinese legal theory. This thesis is to disclose his outstanding status as a jurist, to points out his tremendous influences on succeeded theorists, and to summarizes as well as analyses his thoughts on Chinese jurisprudence. It concludes that Qichao’s jurisprudence reflected the spirit of the age, which focused on searching approaches to save the nation and fight for independence. His theory introduced a wide range of topics in western jurisprudence, including the rule of law principle, the sources and the development of law, the concept of law, the concept of freedom, and natural law, etc. Many of them, however, were apprehended incorrectly because of the exclusive emphasis on the purpose and utility of law.
