The paper investigates the current system of professional license for the primary and secondary school teachers in Taiwan. The authors further investigate and compare the physicians' professional license system in order to derive the implications for the teachers' professional license system. The paper presents a set of strategies of implementing the teachers' professional license renewal in Taiwan, including: the procedure of revising relevant regulations for license renewal, the institute for renewing the license, the expenditure of license renewal, the qualifications and progressing system for renewing the license, the procedure of license renewal, and other policies related to the license renewal. It is hoped that a system of teacher license regulation be constructed in the future, so that the teachers' professional level and image can be enhanced.
