The main purpose of this study was to understand the users' needs assessment of Chung Yuan Christian University gymnasium. We used the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to evaluate the relative importance of individual alternatives by hierarchical structures and discussed the criteria that influence users' needs. With the "Needs Assessment of Chung Yuan Christian University Gymnasium" questionnaires, ten teachers and forty freshmen were recruited as participants. The weight of each criterion has been calculated to determine the priority of service and plan for this gymnasium. The results showed that the highest weight of dimension was main facility of gymnasium. But the weights in the attribute levels were different between teachers and students. These results could be a good reference when improving this gymnasium. For example, university can try to obtain financial subsidy from related institution or use BOT to build the Badminton Stadium in order to meet the teachers' needs. As for students, the basketball and volleyball fields were most needed, there could be some adjustment when mark out the space of stadium. Furthermore, need to improve the health-related facilities and sport equipment in the gymnasium.
