This study aimed at exploring the demands of employability and its importance for the professional engineers in the information technology (IT) industry. This includes general and managerial professional engineers. For achieving the purposes of the study, documents analysis, interviews, Delphi technique and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (FAHP) were utilized in the study. 5 managers and senior engineers from IT industry were interviewed. 12 managers and senior engineers from IT industries were the experts of Delphi technique. 15 managers and senior engineers and 15 middle and top managers were the FAHP expert members in respectively category of general engineers and managerial engineers.
Based on the results of data analysis, the study came to the following conclusions:
In the category of general engineers’ employability, 5 domains and 31 indicators were concluded. Among the domains, “dedicative spirit and attitude” was the most important and “optimistic enterprising and positive thinking attitude” was the most important among 31 indicators.
In the category of managerial engineers’ employability, 6 domains and 37 indicators were concluded. Among the domains, “dedicative spirit and attitude” was the most important and “optimistic enterprising and positive thinking attitude” was the most important among 37 indicators.
