All things on earth are interacted in a system of "Yin-Yang" dualism, which also implies a dualistic interaction between the latent and the evident attributes. Generally speaking, something that focuses on the positive aspect (Yang) tends to be exterior and reveals the evident attribute. On the other hand, something that focuses on the negative aspect (Yin) tends to be interior and implies the latent. Such rule also applies to literary works. This article exemplifies motif in literary works to demonstrate the Yin-Yang dualistic interaction between the latent and the evident attributes.
