This paper interprets cultural relativism from the perspective of medical anthropology, and then move to the explanation of medical relativism. Then, medical pluralism in Taiwan is described with its historical background and its present situation. The fifth and sixth sections of this paper are the demonstration of two popular symbolic healing rituals in Taiwan, soul calling -back ritual and flower changing ritual. The former ritual is to show the notion of soul and fate in folk beliefs, the latter ritual is to explicate the notion of body in folk beliefs. Finally, this paper urges the government and the academic world to concern the development of folk medicine in Taiwan.
