「情緒」是人們在一段短暫的時間裡,有著清楚的因果關係或者是有特定事物作爲對象的心理狀態,且情緒的反應亦至少涵蓋正負兩個向度。目前有關情緒的研究大多在於知覺情緒之個人層面,Kelly與Barsade(2001)提出團隊成員間互動與相處,所經歷的情感經驗成分與情境,即爲團隊層次之情緒。運動團隊間成員(教練與選手)長期互動及競賽過程,對於情緒的產出與感染更是頻繁且複雜。近年來,運動團隊在領導方面的研究相當多,其中領導本質上可以說是一種情緒過程,運動情境中領導者對於察覺運動團隊成員情緒,及適當情緒反應進而影響團隊成員情緒等,均是未來運動團隊相關研究重要議題。
