On the international stages of athletics it is observed that there are sundry sports showing different culture characteristics. Among those sports activities, only Wushu can fully represent the Chinese cultural spirits and traits. Owing to the spread of Western influences in the East for the last 100 years, not only Wushu but Chinese culture itself has been swaying aimlessly as well. Based on the culture view point, this article reviewed the background of three periods, the Ching Dynasty, The Government of the Republic of China, and government across the Taiwan strait. Moreover, it elucidated the value of Chinese Wushu on each era analyzing its system formation and summarizing its instrumental characteristics. Based on the writer's interview with scholars as well as collected historical information, data were sorted, analyzed, and interpreted in order to understand the impact of Western culture upon the spirit and feature of Chinese Wushu. By doing this, it was much easier to observe the context of the development of Chinese Wushu. Under today's trends to emphasize indigenous culture research and yet to expand international cultural exchange, this study accommodated and fulfilled both the conservation of local Chinese special culture and expanded the cultural study field internationally.
