筆者在本刊的前期探討美作為一種本體論的研究對象的可能性，在該文當中嘗試從我們對美的內在各種因素來思考美這個觀念；在本文�堙A我們要嘗試從外在地 考察各種經常和美相提並論的觀念，或是美這個觀念的外在的延伸。在本文中，將分別列舉五對觀念來比較，分別是：美與醜，美興崇高，美與真，自然美與藝術美，古典美與浪漫美。希望經由這五對觀念的比較，能有助於我們更進一步了解美的觀念外延。

　　　　　After a study of the ontology of beauty, which tries toevaluate the possibility of beauty as one object of ontology and discuss the inner elements of the idea of beauty, the author of this paper try to give a survey from the observed external elements which are always connected with the category of beauty. In this paper, the idea of beauty will be discussed by contrasting it with some relative ideas, such as beauty and ugly, beauty and sublime, beauty and truth, natural beauty and artistic beauty, classic beauty and romantic beauty. We hope this comparative study, will be helpful for our understanding of the extension of beauty.
