The study investigated the association among mountaineers’ passion, wilderness skill, flow experience and spirituality from an empirical perspective. In the survey 550 questionnaires were distributed for intermediate level and above mountaineers and 376 of them were collected, 18 of which were incomplete, the total number of effective questionnaires was 358 and the effective rate was 65.1%. The results showed that the mountaineers’ harmonious passion will positively impact the wilderness skill, flow experience and spirituality. The effects of harmonious passion and obsessive passion on flow experience are partially mediated by the wilderness skill. Obsessive passion has positive impacts on wilderness skills and flow experience. The flow experience has the partially/fully effect of mediating between their harmonious passion/obsessive passion and spirituality, respectively. Finally, the implications of current study and directions for future research are discussed.
