The main purpose of this thesis is to investigate the relationship among positive emotions, sense of hope, and creative tendency of college students. The instruments which were applied in this research include the positive emotions scale, sense of hope scale and creative tendency scale. 528 college students who were from Kaohsiung and Pingtung, Taiwan participated in this research. The data were analyzed through factor analysis, multi-group invariance, structural means, and structural equation modeling.
Generally, the results show that male college students have higher creative tendency than female college students. The positive emotions, sense of hope and creative tendency of college students had significant positive correlation. The positive emotions have significant influence on the creative tendency regarding to the characteristic of adventure and imagination of via the sense of hope. The results of structural equation modeling (SEM) provide the information of prediction ability of characteristic of curiosity, adventure and imagination as well as the sense of hope. The characteristic of curiosity and adventure regarding to the creative tendency has more effective prediction ability than sense of hope. Finally, the characteristic of imagination has less significant prediction ability among the others.
This study also offers some suggestions for college students, practitioners, and researchers based on the above findings.
