　　　　　民國廿四年（一九三五）初，國共之間的第五次戰事已經結束。國民黨的部隊控制江西省全境，中共則踏上「兩萬五千里長征」之途。江西省經過七年的「革命」和戰爭，人口銳減，哀鴻遍地。是年三月廿七日，上海的《申報》刊出這麼一張令人觸目驚心的照片，內容是世界紅卍字會在江西廣昌和寧都的掩埋屍體的情形。本文介紹了這個宗教慈善團體的背景、這次救濟埋屍行動的源起和具體做法。在結論的部分，討論為什麼民國初年一批從政壇上退下來的北洋高官會如此投入某個教派，並積極的從事各種慈善救濟工作的原因，並不是如梁其姿所說，是為了讓自己在方志的鄉賢志中留名，而是為了追求自己在宗教上的靈修成就。
　　　　　Early 1935, the fifth civil war in China had ended. KMT troops took control over the entire Jiangxi province, while the communist China moved into the“twenty-five thousand mile expedition”. Jiangxi experienced seven years of “revolution” and war, there was a sharp decrease in population with sufferers all over the province. On the 27th day of March of the same year, the “Time Newspaper” of Shang-hai published a horrifying photo illustrating the World Red Cross burying bodies in Kuangchang and Ningtu. This discourse introduces the background of this charitable religious organization, the origin and the specific ways with which this relief and burial activity was carried out. In the concluding section of this paper, the reason why a group of early Republican high-power political retirees were devoted to a certain religious order, and actively engaged in various charitable and relief work will be discussed. The motivation was not to leave a good name to posterity, but to pursue their own spiritual achievements in their religious practice.
