亞洲金融風暴重創全球的經濟，整個台灣的社會、經濟與教育亦受到波及；而「少子化」的趨勢，更讓首當其衝的幼兒園，雪上加霜。幼兒園將受到什麼樣的衝擊？又該如何因應？則是此研究的重點。研究者發現，幼兒園將受到的衝擊有：一、招生不足，競爭壓力增大；二、面臨減班、併班的壓力；三、幼教師供過於求；四、幼教師工作量增多，福利、薪資卻不見增加；五、家長對保育、教育品質要求越來越高。對此，研究者認爲幼兒園因應之道爲：一、重新規劃、評估園所的經營方針；二、提昇教學品質、提昇競爭力；三、凝聚向心力，實施有效的行政管理；四、建立園所特色並朝精緻化邁進；五、開源節流，把錢花在刀口上；六、加強親職教育。

"Asia Financial Meltdown" had destroyed the economy all over the world, it also related to Taiwan's society, economy and education; on the other hand, "Declined Birth Rates" tendency has brought up a lot of impacts on Taiwan's kindergartens. The key points of this research are to expose the impacts on Early Childhood Education and to explore the way how the kindergartens survive from this shock. The researcher finds out what the impacts going toward pre-school institute are: first, the reduction of students enrolled and an increasing stress from the competition; second, the quantities of classes in schools are going to decrease by merging; third, the quantities of teachers in kindergarten are over; fourth, teachers' work are over loaded, but the salary and welfare are haven't gained as well; fifth, the qualities that parents ask for taking care of their children and courses instructed by teachers are higher than before. Thus, the strategies which help the kindergartens to avoid suffering from the impacts proposed by the researcher are: first, to analyze and reflect the aims of school management; second, to improve the quality and competence which teachers perform in curriculum instruction; third, to put employee's mind to join together and to carry school administration into effect; fourth, to make a reputation for school and transform toward an exquisite teaching; fifth, to exploit more resource of income and cut down the waste of funds; sixth, to enhance the parental education.
