In contemporary Taiwan literature, themes that were avoided and banned as taboos are now becoming a distinct domain in academic studies. This article aims to discuss the subversive features in Chi's book Queer Senses: A Story Cycle of Sexuality, in which we focus on stories "A Mermaid's Tale", " I Am Killed With One SM Porno Videotape" and "L' Eclipses." We analyze the discourse of narratives, manipulations of desire, and gender criticism to demonstrate how Chi employs Queer disposition as a basis to challenge, undermine, taunt, and even overthrow the hegemony and rigidity of traditional literary system and gender issues.
