Under the influence of the patriarchal social system, women participating in sports or as sports coaches are often restricted. In the past, gender stereotypes, family factors, social perceptions, and media brought psychological pressure on female athletes, leading to female athletes being forced to leave the athletic arena. The leadership ability of sports coaches is a very important factor for the success or failure of a team. After all, the central figure in the team is the coach. However, the stereotypical impression women have given to the world is to be gentle, virtuous which is in conflict with the image of sports coaches. Yet, after a change in generation, the concept of gender equality has gradually been accepted. More jobs and opportunities are opened to female sports coaches. In addition, in recent years, women athletes have performed brilliantly on the international arena. Gradually, women's participation in sports has been recognized by the world and women's willingness to serve as sports coaches has increased. This paper describes the problems and situations women will encounter through the participation in sports or serving as sports coaches. Furthermore, the literature review investigates the leadership behavior in female sports coaches to establish affirmation and give feedback to females that serves as sports coaches.
