The purpose of the study focused on new immigrant children’s situation at school and their expectation for future career. According to the survey of 447 new immigrant children in Chiayi County, the results showed: 1. Grades of all subjects of new immigrant children in the study were between level A and level B. Most new immigrant children evaluated their English grade as level A. The average grade level of mathematics was the lowest among all the subjects. The standard deviations of English and mathematics grade levels were bigger than other subjects. 2. The new immigrant children in the study evaluated their relationships at school were above “O.K.” level. They agreed mostly with “I have good friends at school” and secondly with “I like my class.” 3. Concerning expectation for future career, two-thirds of children decided their future career and one-thirds of children thought they were still exploring it. Among new immigrant children who chose their future career, the results showed they had diverse choices. Service industry was chosen by most children, and public employee (e.g., soldiers, teachers, police officers, etc.) was the second popular choice.
