　　　　　原始人類的男與女，因為性生理結構的不同，與對子嗣所付出的最基本 親職投資量，有很大的性別差異。在追求成功地傳延自我基因的目標下，男性衍 生了偏好多偶短期性關係的潛伏傾向，及對年輕貌美女性的自然偏好。女性則衍 生了對單偶長期性關係，及對能夠提供豐富生活資源保障之男性的偏好。由於人 類大腦皮質層的增大演化，使人類得有衡量長、短期性關係之利弊的智慧，此為 長期婚姻關係得佔優勢的重要基礎。但是由於本能浮現的偶發性可能，自古至 今，男人多偶性對象的本能偏好因應社會性倫理的規約後，以獨特的文化形貌， 展現於中國傳統社會與現代社會。本研究的第一部份，採內容分析的方法，得知 由於男女經濟與知識權力的懸殊，中國傳統社會創建了較順應男性性本能偏好的 一夫一妻但多偶的婚姻民俗與「男寬女嚴」的性倫理。第二部份的研究，採問卷 測量及深度訪談的方法，以今日台灣388位屬中產階級的社會男女人士，與確定 有婚外關係之四男三女為分析對象，並佐以「張老師文化公司」出版之台灣情色 報告40位個案的資料，發現有隱藏性不軌兩性關係者，比一般社會人士對兩性關 係的認知與態度，較顯著地反映源自自然的型態;但是不論是循規蹈矩者或脫軌 者都肯定長期單偶一夫一妻婚姻制的價值。
