As the rapid change of science and technology, creativity has been one of the driving forces for many fields in the 21 century. Though the research and development of teaching creativity have been strongly emphasized by many educators, the way of executing creativity is still under a difficult terms, especially in the field of music education. Along with the growth of using computer technology in learning, teaching with digital music can contribute to establishing a music creativity teaching environment. The purpose of this paper is to examine the definition and content of music creativity, its development and realization in music education nowadays. The development of digital music and its function are also been discussed. Finally, the principal ways of applying digital music in music creativity teaching are suggested by the author. It is hoped that the study of this paper can promote the effect of music creativity teaching as well as creative education in our society.
