Making use of the material of "A New Compilation of Existent Lao Sze-Kwang's Wei-Jai Poems, its narrations, and comments (「勞思光韋齋詩存述解新編」)," based on the combination of objects and subjects of the Chinese artistic spirit, and through the perspective of "the aesthetic self and the other," this study discovers multiple meanings in the structure of "the unity of the aesthetic self and the other," and indicates the study's focus the main object of "the other" and "the aesthetic self, in the spiritual dimension" of the artist during his creation of the Wei-Jai Poems, the process through which this study aims to reveal Lao's attitude towards life. The interpretation of these classical poems is therefore made through the understanding of human experience and historical background, with the perspective of the chosen theme of "determination to change the seemingly unchangeable Chinese circumstances(奮志回天)" from among the twelve thematic studies; it determines that "the calamitous people in the turbulent modern history of China(世變民劫)" is the constant subject of concern of this theme in "the aesthetic self, in the spiritual dimension." Although Lao never saw himself as a Modern New Confucianist, he possesses a deep Confucianist sentiment that radiates a vigorous temperament and a beautiful character.
