Borrowing and lending of books is an important social intercourse between Chinese traditional scholars.In Late Qing Dynasty,borrowing and lending of books between scholars is of new features.The Sun Yi-yan family from Wenzhou,a rising local cultural power in Late Qing Dynasty,not only exchanges books in the traditional way,but also constructs a network for book exchange by focusing on the compilation of local series.Gradually,the cultural reputation of Sun family and its identity as a local authority in Yongjia academics are established.
