Ji Xian has an important position to create a pioneer in modern poetry in Taiwan. He has been writing poetry all his life. There are many changes and have a unique personal style in the theme of his poetry. His life is divided into three stages: the Chinese period, the Taiwan period, and the US-Western period. His experiences and works are very impressive. This thesis aims to explore his poetry activities, poetics, the main spiritual and artistic expression of his poetry. It is hoped that through these arguments, Ji Xian's poetics can be constructed.
The full text is divided into eight chapters:Chapter One Introduction. First explain the research motivation, purpose, scope, method, and browse and discuss the relevant research results of the predecessors. The second chapter summarizes the life experience of Ji Xian, and sorts out and clarifies his complex publications. The third chapter discusses the modern poetry movement led by Ji Xian in Taiwan. Including the reasons why he became the ignitor of the Chinese modernist, the environment and human factors that the modernists can survive and develop in Taiwan, the general situation of the modernist debate, and the "new modernism" created by Ji Xian through the debate. The fourth chapter focuses on the poetic view and theory of Ji Xian. Through his published collection of poems, he constructs his poetic view and the development of poetry advocated by him. And explore the connotation and contradiction of the "new modernism". The fifth chapter interprets and analyzes the main spiritual consciousness of his poems through the poems of Ji Xian. After discussion through classification, one should be able to sum up a spirit of existentialism, which is deeply individualistic. The sixth chapter analyzes and explores his artistic techniques through the poems of Ji Xian. He classifies and discusses the styles of language structure and the characteristics of formal layouts, and explores how the aesthetic effects of his techniques are presented. It symbolizes the unique character of "sublime" in his poetry. The seventh chapter is an overview of the influence of the string on Taiwan's poetry. The contribution to modern poetry and poetry and its shortcomings due to personality. It may be possible to provide future generations to rethink the merits and demerits of an important poet in a special era, and to understand how he responds to the expectations and problems of society.
