題名:回歸語言保存的基礎--以家庭、社區為主的母語復振

本文從挽救語言流失(RLS)的理論出發,嘗試指出將學校母語教育視為母語復振“萬靈丹”的限制,並提出回歸家庭、社區的母語世代傳承以為解決之道。學校母語教育雖然有助於母語保存,但是單靠學校是不夠的。本文認為家庭-社區的強化才是母語永續生存的核心機制。因此,所有保存母語的活動,最後一定得集中在保存及維護母語在家庭、社區的使用。本文主張由下而上的草根性運動,強調自我掌控私人語言的使用,以自我增權的方式維持母語。文中提出建立家庭、社區母語薰陶環境的具體建議﹕“一人一語”、“一地一語”、母語薰陶營、師徒制培養母語人才、社區語言方案小組、社區母語幼稚園等。
Based on Fishman’s theory of Reversing Language Shift (RSL), this paper argues for the integration of home and community into language revitalization efforts. This paper discusses the limitations of mother-tongue education in schools, and points out the importance of home and community on the intergenerational transmission of native language. This paper suggests a bottom-up approach to language revitalization, emphasizing the importance of “privatization” of language and self-empowerment. Practical suggestions for the construction of home and community mother-tongue immersion environments are provided.
