國內外近年來已累積不少有關線上與線下人際互動的研究，但研究結果相當分歧。本研究採用民意調查的方法，隨機抽樣臺北市公私立大學生，嘗試瞭解大學生的線上互動、線下互動、與人格特質間的關聯性。本研究有三項重要發現：（1）性別對自我揭露具有顯著的預測能力，但男同學較偏好在線上揭露內心的想法與私密，女同學則較偏好線下分享。（2）線上資訊分享與線下資訊分享呈正相關，但線上自我揭露與線下自我揭露無關。愈常在線上與人分享資訊的大學生，線下也愈樂於分享。（3）人格特質與線下人際互動顯著相關，但與線上人際互動無關。
Conflicting results have been presented in literature concerning online and offline interpersonal interaction. This study, conducted in Taipei, aims to examine the relationships between personality traits, online interpersonal interaction, and offline interpersonal interaction. About 700 college students filled out the questionnaire. Three important findings are as follows: (1) sex is an important predictor for self-disclosure. Male students were more likely to engage in self-disclosure online, while female students preferred self-disclosure offline. (2) Information sharing online was significantly related to information sharing offline, but online self-disclosure was unrelated to offline self-disclosure. (3) Personality traits were significant predictors of online interpersonal interaction, but not significant for online interpersonal interaction.
