The undertaking of cultivating of the Lanzhangxing villages (藍張興庄) made far-reaching influences on the development of the basin of Taizhong (台中盆地). The processes of cultivation were the epitome of processes of cultivation of Taiwan in early Ching Dynasty. Such as the improper conversion of lands to his own use by officers, cultivated the land out of bounds (界外土地) illegally, and illegal immigrations. The villages of the Taizhong basin were distributed along two sides of brook in the basin mainly in the initial stage. Litoudian street (犁頭店街) not only was the cultivating and traffic center, but also the administrative centre of the Taizhong basin during 1731-1887.
