金門人口外移雖與其他偏鄉情況相似，不同的是金門卻有大量的流動與遷移人口，此現象被低度關注。本文運用次級資料與政府檔案分析法，整理不同時期金門人口遷移與流動的現象，將其與各種制度發展與轉型連結。研究核心發現是金門在人口紅利的表現下，無法扭轉當地青年繼續外移，造成人口分布不均，而移入者在生命歷程轉銜時期遷入金門，造成分隔家庭和特定風險，金門與其他地區之人口交換衍生照顧赤字和社會問題，需要國家介入。
The unique population movement and emigration in Kinmen is under-recognized by academic fields. This article basing on the analysis of secondary data and government documents focuses on population movement and migration from 1949 to 2016 and connects it with the development of main social institutions. The core finding is that Kinmen is a special case with the population dividend now and it seems to hardly change the immigration of the youth and uneven population distribution. On the other hand, the migrants experiences the transition in life in Kinmen, thereby maybe generate separation of families and specific risks. The care deficit due to the exchange of population between Kinmen and other areas and the social problems need the proper interventions by State.
